Getting Started

Sigil lets site owners prove their identities. It takes a few minutes to set up and doesn’t require any accounts or third-party services. You only need one thing: a domain you control.

We provide a native registration flow in the extension, but it’s still subject to change. Extensions require you to paste your ascii-armoured private key into the extension. Of course, this key is never sent anywhere and is deleted from memory right after signing, but it is bound to irk some people.

For this reason, we are actively working on a CLI tool and/or a webapp that can perform the whole registration ceremony without being confined to a web extension.

The extension’s registration flow is trivial to use - simply follow the instructions - but we encourage you to wait a few days until we have a more robust system in place :)
